Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to Piko, a local-first language learning app for daily words, widgets, pronunciation, and gentle spaced repetition. Piko is designed to work without an account, advertising, third-party analytics, or cloud storage for your learning progress.

What Piko does not collect

Piko does not require an account, ask for your name, collect your email address, show ads, use third-party analytics, track you across apps or websites, sell personal information, or share personal information with data brokers.

Your words, learning progress, daily goal, theme, language choices, and widget setup are intended to stay on your device. Piko does not operate a cloud account system for this information.

Local learning data

The app stores learning activity locally so that features like review status, streaks, widgets, and preferences can work. This local data remains on your device unless you delete the app, reset app data, or use operating-system features such as device backup that you control through Apple.

Because this information is not transmitted to Piko servers, Piko cannot view, export, or restore it for you from a developer account.

Device Permissions & Widgets

Piko may request specific device permissions to function correctly, such as background fetch capabilities to update widgets. These updates help your Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets display the correct daily tokens and learning status.

Piko does not access other private data on your device without your explicit permission.

Purchases

If you buy Piko Pro, a subscription, lifetime access, or another in-app purchase, the transaction is handled by Apple through the App Store. Piko does not receive your full payment card number or Apple Account password.

The app may receive purchase status or entitlement information from Apple so it can unlock paid features on your device. Apple controls billing, payment processing, subscription management, and refund review.

Support messages

If you choose to contact Piko for support outside the app, you may provide information such as your email address, device details, screenshots, or a description of the issue. That information is used only to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in support messages.

Changes to this policy

Piko may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes, when platform requirements change, or when privacy practices change. The updated policy will show a new effective date.
